Update: 12/30/10
So who's ready for 2011? I know I am! Big things are expected, so hopefully things will actually go to plan this year! I was finally able to get started on vocals yesterday and will be working hard on those. When the vocals are done and mixed the album will be done! Laying down vocals is always my least favorite part, but knowing that this is the last thing I have to do in terms of finishing these songs is all the motivation I need. As you can imagine, I'm ready to move on and start making some new songs, so I'll be able to do that once I get this album out there, and I can't wait for that.
After tomorrow, I'm going to take a few days off and relax. I've been on the go 100% for two weeks straight. Also, I'm going to the Lions' game on Sunday, so I can't wait for that! My whole weekend will be in Detroit actually! New Years Eve is the big Kenneth Thomas cd release party! I can't wait and it's going to be an absolute blast. On top of the legendary KT, there are TONS of other great dj's spinning that night including Yos, Shawn Michaels, Hady Basha, Marcus Beier, and a WHOLE lot more. Tickets are still available I do believe, but they're going quickly, so be sure to get your tickets, like, right now. It will sell out. You can get your tickets here: http://www.wantickets.com/EventDetail.aspx?e_id=136190
I'll be keeping you updated on the facebook page with everything going on out there tomorrow night. Happy New Year everyone and expect a whole lot of Monochrome Circuit in 2011!
Talk to you next year!

UPDATE: 12/03/10
I've also been on a remixing binge and it gave me an idea to someday release a FREE remix album. That isn't my number one priority because I want to get this debut out, maybe a few more E.P.'s, and possibly another full length done by the time I worry about any of that, but whenever I have enough decent remixes to compile a whole album is when I'll release the free album! If I keep remixing songs at the rate I am right now, there could be one coming your way sooner than that, who knows?
That's about it for now. I'll blog soon, I promise!

Officially A Rock Star
I'm putting some finishing touches on some songs for "...Overdrive", then I'll have a track list ready to release to you. I'll make damn sure it's ready by the end of the summer. Does early September count? Lets shoot for that. I have less to do for "...Overdrive" so I think that's a realistic goal.
As far as the full length, I'm putting some finishing touches on some songs. I pretty much only need to finish the music on three songs, then I need to lay down vocals for all the songs then that too will be finished. I won't give you a time table for that yet though because I don't even know when it can all be done. I've had the name of the full length decided for quite some time but I haven't ever said anything in terms of what it's going to be called but I'll announce that to you when I announce the track list for the cd. That shouldn't be too much longer.
"...Overdrive" isn't going to be sound wise the indentity that Monochrome Circuit has become. It's pretty much going to be demo work and literal crap that wasn't good enough to go on the full length so it will be released for free. I'll have a track list for that very soon.
That's pretty much it. You can now find Monochrome Circuit all over the web starting with the one you already know about, myspace, Monochrome Circuit is now on facebook, and reverb nation. I've started making a band camp account, but I'll link you as soon as I have some stuff up there and that will come when I can figure out how the hell to use it. Thanks for reading and thanks for your patience, I'll keep you posted!

It's aLIVE!
I've been teasing this update for about a week or so. So lets get to it.
First off, DEMF was an absolute blast. Had a great time and I'm already counting down the days until next year. You can check out pics of myself at DEMF at the Monochrome Circuit Myspace Page
Onto bigger things.
Tomorrow I'll be posting the cover art for the debut Monochrome Circuit E.P. "Apathy In Overdrive"! So look out for that tomorrow.
Finally, Monochrome Circuit will be playing LIVE sometime this summer! I was holding off until I had an official date, but I haven't gotten word yet. This won't be a full band lineup but I will be playing DJ sets starting this summer. Stay tuned for more updates and news on that. I'll have a date or two hopefully pretty soon.
That's it for now, so check in tomorrow to check out the cover art for "Apathy In Overdrive" and stay tuned for more news on the Monochrome Circuit live show. Thanks for reading.

It's Been A Long Time Coming That I Say What I Need To Say
One of these days you'll understand some of the subjects of my blogs.....maybe when I get some damn music out to you!
I know, I know. I'm trying very hard to get things done. I was also hoping that my next update would have a release date for the debut E.P. "Apathy In Overdrive" but that wasn't meant to be...yet.
With that being said, I thought you deserved an update anyways. I'm continuing to write and record and things are going very well.....Except......One day I was going to lay down some vocals, and I ended up screwing around on *Asterisk*'s Korg Electribe instead. Check it out on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuByJhhOX68
I was planning on getting started on vocals yesterday as well, but I've had no voice because either 1: my sinuses, or 2: I'm getting sick. Lets hope it's number 1.
Anyways, I'll get started on more vocals soon.
For those reading this on the myspace blog, come on over to my blogspot page at http://www.monochromecircuit.blogspot.com and add me. I really prefer blogging on here more than I do on the space. For those reading this on blogspot, why the hell haven't you added me yet? If you don't have an account, sign up and add me! It's free..........yeeeeee.....yeeeeee, and I know how much you like free stuff!
Also, from May 29th to May 31st I'll be in Detroit for the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF)! I won't be performing but I'll be all over the place. I plan on doing video updates and picture updates throughout the whole weekend. And if you're one of those crazy robotic punks like me and you're going to DEMF, be sure to find me and say hi!
That's it for now! Talk to you at DEMF!

Wee Bit Of An Update
I'm also working (although not heavily to this point) on a third cd. This will be a full length but not your typical L.P. It's all instrumental and the songs are pretty short for the most part. For a bit of an example, check out Blue Stahli's "Antisleep Vol. 1" and Celldweller's "Soundtrack to the Voices in My Head". It won't be like those musically I wouldn't imagine, but it will be very similar in terms of how it's structured. I'll have some more music online soon.

And we'll always be here until you die
I've taken the past few days off working on music to kind of reset mentally. I also took a few days help producing some demo tracks for DJ *Asterisk* as he prepares to make his long awaited debut cd. Every thing's sounding very good to this point.
I'll get back to work on my music come tomorrow. I did start a new song called "The Parasites" which is sounding pretty good so far. I'll be possibly posting some new instrumental demos soon. I'll keep you posted on that.
Until then,
Derek

Hell Won't Be Too Bad If It Has Beats Like This...
Or beef, as some would say I suppose. I was outside in the beautiful 80 degree weather yesterday working on the new music (yeah, brought ALL my shit outside haha) when I got a call from my friend DJ *Asterisk*. He asked me what I was up to and I simply told him "Making beats and catching rays", it turns out he thought I said beef. So he came over hungry thinking I was "making beef and catching rays." So, the new term for beats is now beef.
But yeah, anyways, the reason I made this post.
There are tons of updates I need to inform you on. Where the Hell do you want me to start? Well, lets start with "Apathy In Overdrive".
"Apathy In Overdrive" will indeed be the debut E.P., which will be released first. Two tracks are confirmed for it one being titled "AdNeGvEiLl", and the other being "Apathy In Overdrive". I'll let you know more about the track list when I get closer to finishing it. I'd expect the E.P. to be released sometime this summer.
Now onto the full length. I'm working on the full length at the same time as "Apathy In Overdrive" for two reasons. One so I can get it done faster and two that way I'll decide what songs go on the E.P. (I'm saving the good stuff for the full length). I'd expect the debut full length to be out shortly after "Apathy In Overdrive".
Next, moving right along now. I'm working on theme music for an upcoming RPG game titled "Evolution: Alpha". I figured it would be a good start to begin my goal of making music for games, movies, tv, radio, and others. For more info on "Evolution: Alpha", check out the great new forum "Evolution Media" at Evolution Media
Yours truely may have a thread there too. =)
You can test out a new demo of "Evolution: Alpha" on the forums as well. While you're there, be sure to sign up and get chatting. There's a lot of cool stuff on the forums including games and music. And did I mention yours truely may have a thread? ;)
I'll keep you updated and everything, thanks for reading, get signed up and start chatting on the forums, and I'll have some new music headed your way very soon!
Yours badassfully (...what?),
Derek

What's On The Other Side?
Well, I've been very very busy working on a lot of new material. Not only for an EP, but also for a full-length. So far, I think things are sounding pretty good, very very dark, much darker than originally imagined, but that's the beauty of musical therapy, you let your feelings out with your songs and this is just the stage of my life that's coming out in my music.
I hope to have more details on "Apathy In Overdrive" soon, but I'm still working on songs and then I'll decide what songs go on there, but don't fret, it won't be an overwhelmingly long period of time.
Some songs I'm working on include "1H8T3U", "Long Time Coming", "Freak", "Lets Go", among others. I am excited to show everyone my art, but it won't be out until it's ready. Thanks for reading and I'll continue to keep you posted.

Words Mean Nothing, Bass Means Everything!!!
I thought I'd show you some lyrics. These lyrics go to the self titled song "Monochrome Circuit", which pretty much somes up the meaning of the name MONOCHROME CIRCUIT:
I'm so sick of this everyday mess
So tired of the bullshit and the stress
I used to see blue, I used to see red
Nothing can quiet all the voices in my head
Everyday it's all the same
Can't escape the black and gray
Every night and every day
Why does it have to be this way?
(way way way, way way way)
There's always clouds over my head
No pretty colors, no friendly faces, so I play dead
The rage has subsided and the numb has settled in
I close my eyes and hope that someday this will end
Everyday it's all the same
Can't escape the black and gray
Every night and every day
Why does it have to be this way?
(way way way, way way way)
No letting go, no letting go of this
Is there any way to clean up this mess?
I just want to erase the pain
But it's engraved in my brain
Everyday it's all the same
Can't escape the black and gray
Every night and every day
Why does it have to be this way?
(way way way, way way way)
More updates to come soon, until then check out the new song "Fabricated Smiles"

A Weekend That I don't think actually Happened...
You know how sometimes something you never thought would happen actually did happen and you were just so happy about it you didn't think it was real? Yeah, that was my weekend. Last night I hung out at Vain Ultra Lounge in Detroit with friend DJ *Asterisk* and watched two great DJ's Kenneth Thomas and Shawn Michaels. Kenneth absolutely tore the place down. In the process I got to hang out with two of my biggest musical heroes and influences (and one former neighbor of my sister). You may know them as Klayton (Celldweller) and Bret (Blue Stahli). I have proof but even I don't believe it. Time of my life. I came home to realize I didn't have my keys so I was stuck outside in the freezing cold at 4:30 AM. Something like that would generally piss me off severely, but I have yet to be mad about anything since last night. I'm still on cloud nine. In the process I uploaded a new track titled "Fabricated Smiles". Check it out on the myspace. I'll be keeping you updated on everything involving the making of "Apathy In Overdrive" and everything else in my life. Be ready for the most boring ride of your life.
